This album was written and recorded in about 8 hours and produced in another 4 hours as part of an immersion composition event. All the noises are 4 string bass, vocals/beatboxing and found percussion (saw blades, buckets, bottles, mason jars, cake knives, etc.). Twisted Torus is a live looping act, and I also record by using just two tracks in a Digitech stereo looper. The subject matter revolves around a post-apocalyptic science fiction world called Mercury Sunrise. Before each immersion event, I like to hammer out a couple pages of "short stories" to inspire lyrics during the actual songwriting process .
